APPLICATION - BACKGROUND SUMMARY
RETROFIT Router Application - Joseph Beth Booksellers Customer Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio has a large table wood router used to cut relief signage for multiple retail stores throughout the country.

THE PROCESS
The Care Center had a failure in the controller that had become obsolete and unfortunately no parts were available for repair. The Director of Store Design searched the country for a replacement system or control.

CLEVELAND MOTION CONTROLS DRIVE SYSTEM

A controller retrofit was provided by CMC’s Automation Solutions Group. The retrofit included a Touch Screen Operator HMI in a new enclosure, and the controller in the existing enclosure.

As an added bonus, CMC was also able to provide a trace view of the parts being cut on the HMI which allowed the operator to anticipate where and when the individual pieces would be cut. This reduced damage caused by moving pieces, and eliminated the need to re-cut.
